How Times Are Calculated
- Fajr: dawn — sun 15-19.5° below horizon (method-dependent)
- Sunrise: sun's upper edge at horizon
- Dhuhr: sun crosses meridian + few minutes
- Asr: shadow length = object + shadow at noon (Hanafi: 2x)
- Maghrib: sunset
- Isha: sun 15-19.5° below horizon at night
Why Methods Differ
Pakistan typically uses University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi (18°/18°) or ISNA. Different Fajr/Isha angles shift times by 10-20 minutes — all valid scholarly opinions.
